Introduction

I have been an enthusiastic
amateur photographer for many years, my
first 35mm camera was a Halina 35X back
in the 60s.
I have also dabbled in black and white developing
and printing in my converted attic. Having
had more time on my hands during the last
few years I have rekindled my interest in
photography, as well as embarking on video
filming, editing and burning on to DVD.
Having progressed from 35mm to Digital SLR
in 2001, it has been a steep learning curve
for me working with various computer software
programmes. This has been very interesting
but somewhat mind boggling getting to grips
with a totally new concept in photography.
I found it extremely challenging although
there were times when I was almost pulling
my hair out!
Being dyslexic, I found learning the new
technology somewhat daunting, especially
if it means following instructions from
reference books. Like many, I explored the
various features and learnt by ‘hands-on’
trial and error, or being shown by friends,
making my own notes so that I could remember
what I did at a later date.
I am currently using Canon photographic
equipment - XM2 Video Camcorder, SLR 30D,
1D Mk11 and various Canon lenses.
Thank you for visiting my web site. I hope
you enjoy my selection of photographs depicting
my interests in nature, old buildings, scenery
and people – catching the unusual, waiting
patiently and watching birds, animals and
plants for just the ‘right’ opportunity
to catch the moment.
